Saying Yes To God
God’s Job Application
2nd Corinthians 1:20
Ephesians 1: 4-5
Jesus is the “Yes” to all of the promises listed in the Old Testament
In Christ the answer is yes
Have you told the Lord "Yes"? "Yes" is an affirmative answer to an uncertain future. You are uncertain because you no longer make the decisions regarding your life. You and I have given the keys over to an almighty, all knowing, all seeing, unconditional loving God who has promised to give us a future and a hope. He hides the details of our "Yes" to protect us from the process and the promise that lay ahead.
“Yes Lord” is the anthem of the COGIC church. It’s the biggest decision a person could ever make regarding following Christ. Once we say yes, our job is to come along for the ride. The ride is smooth at times and bumpy at other times. Sometimes the ride has taken us on a total 360 and we don’t know which way to turn yet we still have a promise. Jesus said Hebrews 13:5
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
Why would a person say “Yes” to the Lord? Only because we are convinced that God can do with our lives what we cannot. Many “yes's” in life come as a result of failure. Others come from grief while some come from a true Holy Spirit encounter with God. “Yes” to God is an agreement with God to get the glory out of our lives.
Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, David, Ester, Daniel, Mary, The 12 disciples, Paul and many more all gave in. Not one of them had an easy road but they understood the mission. A “Yes” may or may not bring me to my best life but it will bring the purposes of God to pass. One has to love God to say “Yes” to him.
Prayer-
Lord, we say yes even if it costs us our lives in Jesus name Amen.
